ATLANTA — The 49th annual Atlanta Pride Parade took over the streets in Midtown Sunday afternoon.
The parade was the conclusion to a weekend filled festivities celebrating Atlanta's LGBTQ+ community.
Hundreds of thousands of people traveled to the city for the big weekend. It is estimated that Atlanta's Pride Weekend attracts about 300,000 people to the region each year.
The rain didn't stop participants or those watching from coming to the event.

The parade started near the Civic Center MARTA Station. It merged from Ralph McGill onto Peachtree Street and travelednorth. It then turned east onto 10th Street and follows 10th Street to the Charles Allen Gate entrance of Piedmont Park, where the Parade officially ends.
The grand marshals for the event are highlighted by Stacey Abrams, the 2018 Georgia Democratic governor nominee.
