ATLANTA -- A noted hip-hop artist was arrested in east Georgia on Thursday after being pulled over on I-20.

Marquavis Goolsby, who goes by the stage name Dae Dae, was arrested in Greene County after a traffic stop for an SUV going 92 mph in a 70 mph zone. But the charges didn't end with speeding.

As the Greene County deputy pulled over the white Chevrolet Tahoe, he said he saw a front seat passenger crawl into the back seat.

A report provided by Greene County Captain Lee Stancill said that the deputy immediately smelled marijuana upon approaching the vehicle. He then saw a gun in plain view in the passenger floorboard that was later confirmed stolen. A search of the vehicle located another gun under the passenger seat.

The driver, Dontavious McCrary, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Dae Dae was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana less than one ounce. He also faces a charge of crossing the guard lines with contraband after he allegedly concealed and later tried to ditch marijuana while in the patrol car on the way to the Greene County Jail.

The Atlanta-based rapper, Dae Dae, is best known for two works, "Spend It" and "Wat U Mean".
