TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — A Brookhaven man was arrested in Dunwoody after officers said he was communicating with someone online who he thought was an underage boy.
An investigator with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, who also is a member of the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, conducted an operation last week that led to an investigation in regards to child exploitation.
Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff said that during the operation 30-year-old Rodney Wayne Beasley III, of Brookhaven, conversed with who he believed to be an "underage male child."
During the communications, explicit conversation and images were sent, the sheriff said.
On April 10, Beasley was arrested at a location in Dunwoody, without incident.
He was transported to the Troup County Jail and is charged with criminal attempt aggravated child molestation and two counts of child exploitation under the Child Exploitation and Prevent Act.
“I can’t say enough about my team of investigators who are assigned the incredible task of working these tough cases and arresting those who seek harm to our children," Woodruff said.
