BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- Police say a SWAT standoff at a Brookhaven apartment complex has ended peacefully and the suspect is in custody.
According to a Brookhaven Police Department spokesperson, the male suspect originally barricaded himself inside an apartment in the 2800 block of Buford Highway as they attempted to serve a warrant.
The standoff also left three schools, Sequoia Middle School, Cross Keys High School and Woodward Elementary School on lockdown due to the proximity to the area.
