Police search for motorcyclist who robbed Buckhead driver in broad daylight

The motorcyclist first tried to convince the driver she had a flat tire. When that didn't work, he became aggressive.

ATLANTA -- Police are looking for a motorcyclist who robbed a woman after tricking her into rolling down her window on Peachtree Battle Road.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 according to a report filed with the Atlanta Police Department. Authorities said that the victim was traveling in the area of the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center near Peachtree Road when a man on a motorcycle started following her.

As she approached the intersection with Northside Drive and stopped for a traffic light, the report states that the suspect pulled up next to her vehicle, a Bentley, and knocked on her driver's side window.

He then allegedly motioned to her front tire as if it were flat. The victim stated that she acknowledged the man but wasn't sure her tire was actually going flat.

But as she drove away, the motorcyclist continued to follow. As she pulled up to another light at Northside Parkway and West Paces Ferry Road, the biker once again approached her vehicle - this time on the passenger's side. However, his actions from that point forward were far from helpful.

The victim said the man reached into her car and grabbed her purse. She fought to get it back, at which point he allegedly yelled "I will kill you" though never showing a weapon.

He then demanded her Rolex watch and diamond ring. She complied and then fled the area as he rode off in the opposite direction.

A witness managed to see the suspect's Georgia license reading CY3UP9 and provide information to police. The suspect appeared to be a black male possibly in his 30s wearing a camouflage jacket and dark pants. The motorcycle is believed to be a blue and white Suzuki GSX-R sportbike.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to call 404-577-8477. Those with information that leads to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
