ATLANTA — A car crash left some people in the dark Friday night in one part of Atlanta.

According to Georgia Power, just over 250 customers were affected by the outage. A car hit a pole off of Monroe Drive near Piedmont.

Atlanta Fire Rescue said a transformer on the pole caught fire. Fire officials also said the company had to turn off the power so that the flames could be extinguished.
