CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police in Clayton County are investigating an incident that left a car inside a house early Saturday morning.

It happened on Flat Shoals Road near Castle Gate Drive at about 1 a.m.

The home's resident, Jewel Keyes said she and her husband were asleep when the incident occurred.

"The whole house shook," she said. "I thought it was an earthquake."

She said that when her husband went downstairs, he saw the lights from the car inside the house.

Keyes said her son was sleeping downstairs but he was okay.

Keyes says she spoke with officers who responded about the traffic on Flat Shoals Road, complaining about the speed of the traffic.

"This isn't the first time we've had problems," she said. "They've knocked down our mailbox, our trash cans."

Keyes said that when she suggested a stop light at a nearby intersection, the officer was dismissive, saying that traffic was using the roadway as a cut-through from nightclubs and bars along Old National Highway.

Clayton County Police did not have any immediate comment on the incident.

There was no word on any injuries or what charges the driver may face in connection with the incident.
