CHAMBLEE, Ga. -- It's been over two weeks since a local man was gunned down at an Atlanta area apartment complex and his family is still searching for answers.
Speaking exclusively with 11Alive, family members say the loss of 26-year-old Gary Vaughn Pritchett is still very fresh on their minds - as is the knowledge that his killer is still out there.
Gary was found shot in the head by Chamblee police on Oct. 3 in the parking lot of Anderson at Clairmont Apartments. He would die from his injuries just 5 days later.
Now, nearly 60 days after the tragedy that took her son, Annette Pritchett said she just hopes that someone will allow them some closure.
"Gary was very well-known throughout Atlanta and my prayer is that someone that knows what happened will come forward," she said.
Annette said her son was already living his bright future when an ill-fated night cut it short. The New York native moved to Georgia early in life and graduated from Peachtree Ridge High School. He later attended Georgia Gwinnett College.
Annette said her son was already making his mark in the world through his music and a business he launched, Geevonchi Worldwide Trust, when she lost him.
"Gary was an aspiring music mogul and released his first single in 2013," she said.
He also worked with One World Media in both the U.S. and Hong Kong, his mother said.
Now, nearly 2 months after his death, Gary's loss is still reverberating through his family - as is the fact that the person responsible has not been brought to justice.
