Clark Atlanta hosts young leaders from African countries at State Capitol on #MandelaDay

Six years after his death, the world is still remembering his legacy.

ATLANTA — South African anti-apartheid leader, and later, president, Nelson Mandela was born in the village of Mvezo July 18, 1918.

Six years after his death in 2013, the world is still remembering his legacy. Many honored his contributions to society on Thursday - Mandela Day.

Locally, Clark Atlanta University hosted 25 young leaders from 19 African countries at the State Capitol as a part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship.

The students discussed business and entrepreneurship and the role government plays in each. Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell was among the speakers.
