Search for persons of interest continues after Conyers homeowner shot in head 3 times

Investigators returned to the scene Monday morning to look for clues in the shooting.

CONYERS, Ga. — Deputies are still searching for multiple persons of interest they believe are involved in the shooting of a 45-year-old Conyers man who was shot in the head three times. Investigators returned to the taped-off scene of the shooting in Rockdale County Monday morning.

The shooting took place at a house on Fountain Crest Drive in Conyers Sunday afternoon. 

At least five investigators from the Rockdale County Crime Unit spent the day sweeping the home for fingerprints, evidence or any other clues that could lead them to answers.

Officials with the sheriff's office released photos of two men they believe to be persons of interest. The men are still at large.

According to the Rockdale County Sherriff's Office, the homeowner, who has not been identified, remains in critical condition. 11Alive was able to confirm through records that the victim is the owner of the home. 

Residents in the area said that the neighborhood is relatively safe. They believe the shooting was targeted. 

Some neighbors also stated that they didn't know the victim very well, because he just moved into the area recently.

Residents added that they didn't hear any gunshots at the time of the shooting. However, the neighborhood has been assisting law enforcement with their investigation.

The sheriff's office is actively searching for the suspects. Photos taken by security and flock cameras in the neighborhood have been crucial to their investigation.

Though there are still no arrests, the sheriff's office said developments are underway.
