Police have confirmed a body found in Covington is that of a man reported missing earlier this week.
According to the Newton County Sheriff's office, a man's body was found on Conley Ditch Road around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Earlier this week, Newton officials issued a missing person's report on Johnny Kenneth Green, who they said had gone missing under suspicious circumstance and had last been seen on Conley Ditch Road.
Thursday evening, around 6 p.m., Newton County Sheriff's officials confirmed the body indeed did belong to Green. At this time, officials said there were no obvious signs of foul play however the body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's medical examiner to confirm a cause of death.
