Authorities: Man kills wife, stepdaughter in Covington shooting

The daughter's boyfriend was also shot but survived.

COVINGTON, Ga. — A Covington man has been arrested after police said he shot and killed his wife and stepdaughter - and also shot her boyfriend.

Tijuana Cook, 41, and her daughter, Michelle Olivia Dickerson, 23, were found shot to death inside a home on Usher Street in Covington. Dickerson's boyfriend, Theodore Benton, was shot in the abdomen and arm, according to Covington Police.

The two women were pronounced dead at the scene. Benton was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. His current medical status is unknown.

According to Covington Police, officers responded to shots fired at the home on Usher Street around 9 p.m. As the officers walked up to the scene, a man walked toward them from a wooded area near the home and admitted to being involved. He has been identified as Cedric Bernard Cook, 37. He gave himself up to police without incident.

Covington Police said everyone involved in this shooting is related to each other. Cedrick Cook was Tijuana Cook's husband and Michelle Dickerson's stepfather.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victims of this tragic, senseless event," said Covington Police Captain Ken Malcom.
