Jailer's family showered with community's love after granddaughter dies

"As the family mourns the loss of this little girl, please help them find the money to pay for funeral expenses. Please pray for this family."

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. -- A local community is coming together to help a jailer whose family is now experiencing an unimaginable loss.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the granddaughter of one of their own deputies died in an accident on Georgia Highway 101 South in the Union community of Paulding County on Tuesday.

Now, that family is asking for help as they plan for this unexpected tragedy - and neighbors are stepping up to help. Haley Sell recounted the moments that she lost her 4-year-old daughter in a GoFundMe Page post on Wednesday.

Haley Borders Sell said she left work to go pick up her other two kids from her parent's home when her car was struck from behind. She was riding with her daughter Alora and her 3-year-old son at the time of the crash. Little Alora Rose Cell died from her injuries in the crash.

"This has been a nightmare that I just want to wake from," Sell said on her fundraising page. "I'm banged up pretty bad, my vehicle totaled, but worse of all I'm planning a funeral instead of a trolls birthday party for my sweet beautiful baby girl."

In less than 12 hours, that page has already raised nearly $6,000 from 126 donors, many leaving messages of support and stories of their own losses.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office itself is among those trying to help with expenses.

"As the family mourns the loss of this little girl, please help them find the money to pay for funeral expenses," the sheriff's office posted in their own Facebook announcement. "Please pray for this family."

On Facebook, Alora's mother thanked all those who have already donated money, time and kindness to her family during their time of need.

"It means the world to us to know so many people care about and love us," she said.
