UPDATE: Doraville police now say a missing father and 18-month-old child have been located in Tamarac, Fla. and the child was released to Florida officials. Willis Johnson was booked into the Broward County Jail.
DORAVILLE, Ga. -- An Amber Alert has been issued for an 18-month-old boy after his father was a no-show for custodial drop-off earlier in the week.
He was last seen on April 1 when he was scheduled for the drop at the Doraville Police Department.
The boy and his father never showed up and attempts to find them have failed.
Thursday, the mother went before a Fulton County judge in an emergency hearing. At that time, the judge ordered an Amber Alert.
The suspect is listed as 31-year-old Willis Anthony Johnson, described only as a black male.
They were last seen in a blue Kia Forte EX but police have since located the vehicle at a family member's home and the two were not in it. Police later released photos of Johnson's new vehicle: a Land Rover.
Doraville Police tell 11Alive News Johnson will be charged with Felony Interference with Custody. Police are now in the process of extraditing him from Florida. Police say Johnson gave up the child Monday morning after being stopped by Florida law Enforcement.
