DOUGLAS CO., GA - The bus driver responsible for saving three students from a fiery wreck will be honored by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners for her bravery.
Shuronda Richardson was recognized and also dubbed an honorary fire marshal for her heroic actions and quick-thinking when a pickup truck crashed into and wedged itself underneath Richardson's school bus in November, according to Rick Martin, Deputy Director of Communication and Community Relations for Douglas County
"Her heroic actions presented a situation that could have gone really bad. As a result of that, I felt it was an opportunity to share that story, of, you know, something going well."
"The proudest moment, this is a big moment for me. I haven't had any moments that could compare to this," Richardson said.
