Bodycam video shows dramatic rescues from Gwinnett apartment fire

It's an officer's perspective like you've never seen before.

DULUTH, Ga. -- Video shows Gwinnett police officers running from door to door, alerting residents that their building was on fire.

It happened at the Sweetwater Apartments on Sweetwater Road near Duluth in the early morning hours on Dec. 1.

Officers Conner Buckley and Austin Goehrig from the Gwinnett Police Department said when they arrived, the mail center attached to a residential building was on fire.

“The fire was spreading quickly into the apartment building as flames were 30 to 40 feet high.  Both officers ran toward the building to start evacuating it,” police said.

Body camera video shows the large flames as officers helped adults and children escape the buildings that were quickly filling with smoke.

“Because of the quick actions of both Officer Buckley and Officer Goehrig, everyone made it out of the building and no casualties were reported,” police said.
