However, they need your help. Here's how you can get involved.

The City of Dunwoody is asking for the public's assistance to launch their new K-9 unit.

According to the Dunwoody Police Department Facebook page, up to $16,500 (each) in grants will be awarded to seven police agencies in the United States. The Aftermath K-9 Grant aims to help departments create a new K-9 unit or maintain existing K-9 units.

A spokesperson for Dunwoody Police said that 50 agencies have applied to win the grant.

The winner is determined based on popular vote. Voting began Wednesday, October 23 and ends November 3 at 11:59 p.m. central time.

"We're counting on you," Dunwoody Police wrote on Facebook.

Holly Springs Police Department, Cobb County Police Department, and Dunwoody Police Department, among other southeastern police departments, are also competing for the grant.
