GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Police in Gainesville are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian, they said.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, it happened Monday at around 6:15 a.m. on Browns Bridge Road at McEver Road.
"For unknown reasons the pedestrian was in the roadway, not in a crosswalk," Cpl. Jessica Van said in a statement. "The driver stayed on scene and assisted with the investigation."
Police said the investigation is ongoing and that charges are not likely against the driver.
The person killed was only identified as an adult male. Police have not released his name.
