GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Gainesville police are investigating human remains found in the woods near an area road.

Police said the remains were found along Lee Street around 11 a.m. Friday after receiving information from another local government agency. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has since been called in to assist in the investigation which is still in the very early stages.
