HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- The search for a woman who fell off a sailboat Sunday afternoon in Lake Lanier has been suspended until Monday morning.
According to the Hall County sheriff's office, two people fell off the boat around 4 pm and only one person resurfaced. That person was picked up by a passing vessel, but the woman did not resurface.
State game wardens, along with Hall and Forsyth county rescue personnel, began searching.
The woman reportedly fell from the boat near Old Federal Campground.
The Hall County sheriff's office said the operation was originally classified as a rescue, but has now become a recovery.
