Habersham County accident leaves 22-year-old driver dead

Authorities said the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt.

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — A 22-year-old man has died after being ejected from his vehicle during a single-car crash in Habersham County, Friday.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, around 2 p.m., a 2013 Jeep Wrangler was heading south on Cannon Bridge Road and went off the west shoulder. After leaving the road, authorities said the Jeep struck a driveway culvert, ejecting the driver in the process.

The GSP reports that Allan Lee Hansen was unrestrained at the time of the crash and didn't survive. Authorities haven't provided any details regarding the cause of the crash or any circumstances that may have led to it.

The crash closed Cannon Bridge Road near Cap Fry Road for an extended period of time as crews worked to clear the scene and others investigated the deadly crash itself.
