BREMEN, Ga. - Firefighters were dispatched to a home after the severe weather that ripped through the state caused major damage to a residence.
Bremen Fire was dispatched to a tree on a duplex located on the 100 block of Kaiser Street at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
When firefighters arrived to the residence, they found everyone that was inside the damaged home to be safely outside.
Two units had structure damage and water damage, according to the Bremen fire chief, Jay Hurley.
Paula Ridgeway, a neighbor of the impacted residents, remembers the phones in her home being cut off and making sure her family got into the bathtub when the tornado warning was issued.
"I sat there and prayed and we were okay. But, it was something let me tell you. I just feel sorry for the people in the first unit there."
No injuries were reported and power has been cut off from the residence as crews work to repair the storm damage.
