Woman arrested for posing as bank customer, withdrawing thousands from bank in Lawrenceville

A 55-year-old woman was arrested for fraud after withdrawing cash from the victim's bank account using a false ID.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – A 55-year-old woman from the Bronx has been arrested for fraud after withdrawing $2,500 from a SunTrust bank account belonging to a North Carolina woman.

Brenda Scullark was arrested after several tips came in from Crime Stoppers asking for public's help to identify her.

Scullark is accused of making the withdrawal from a SunTrust bank at 3590 Club Drive outside of Lawrenceville on Tuesday, July 17, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department. The victim noticed the unauthorized withdrawal on her account and reported the fraudulent charge to her bank.

According to police, Scullark presented a fraudulent North Carolina driver’s license that included the victim’s information but featured a photo of the suspect.

After she took the money from the bank, police said she attempted to withdraw money from another branch on Five Forks Trickum Road, but the transaction was not completed.

The lead detective in this case obtained a warrant to arrest Scullark for financial identity fraud. She is currently in jail at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
