'Let's protect our children:' Shaq speaks out on school safety

"Let's protect our children."

After the tragic shooting in Parkland, Fla., basketball legend Shaquille O'neal is speaking out about school safety.

"It would be nice if the government gave the law enforcement guys more money, so they can put more guys around these schools. That would be the simple solution. There's been a lot of budget cuts, especially in that area but in a perfect world you know you say hey cops give 'em more money," he said.

"Let's protect our children."

Shaq was at Atlantic Station on Tuesday where he was giving away free Oreo chocolate candy bars in honor of National Oreo Day today.

He and the chocolate treat share a birthday.

Shaq has said before that's he's interested in running for Sheriff in 2020. Here was his answer today.
