ATLANTA — A man has died from his injuries after he was partially ejected from a car during an accident.

It happened around 3:30 Saturday morning in the area of Interstate-75 north and Mt. Paran Road.

According to officials, a single red SUV flipped and crashed, during which the man was partially ejected.

According to witnesses from the scene, the driver was traveling north on I-75 at high speeds when he uncontrollably left the center lanes of the roadway and veered to the right shoulder. The driver then over-corrected, causing his car to roll across the highway and strike the median wall. It is not known whether the man was wearing a seat belt at the time.

Responders got to the scene and were able to communicate with the driver, who was alert and conscious at the time. He was transported to Grady Hospital, but he later died from his injuries.

Investigators have not released the victim's identity.

Traffic on the roadway was down to one lane while officials worked the scene. All lanes were back open by 7 a.m.
