Man shot near I-285 at Cascade Road

This is what we know right now.

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Police have portions of a busy intersection shut down during rush hour traffic after a shooting.

According to officials with the City of South Fulton Police Department, someone called 911 just before 5 p.m. Tuesday about someone possibly being shot near the on ramp of I-285 South and Cascade Road.

When officers got there, they found a man hurt. They transported him to a local hospital.

Brandon Parks called 11Alive after the shooting to say that he had been caught in the crossfire of the shooting, and there was nothing he could do during the scary moments.

"I take a look over to the left, and two gentlemen rolled their windows down and opened fire," Parks explained. "It's bumper-to-bumper. We can't go anywhere. The only thing we can do is pray that we don't get hit."

Parks said it was the most terrifying moment he's ever had in his life. He said one of the bullets fired went through his bumper, and another grazed the hood of his truck.
