A 16-year-old lost control of his SUV and collided head-on into a school bus in Marietta, Thursday morning, police said.
It happened on Manning Road near Whitlock Ave.
11Alive SkyTracker chopper video showed the bus at a stop against a tree, with heavy damage to the front of the vehicle. Aerial video showed the SUV with heavy damage at the scene, as well.
Police said the 16-year-old driver and passenger were headed to Marietta High School, which is off Manning Road. Those two were said to have minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Police said two middle school students were aboard the bus and were not hurt. It was not clear what school they were headed to.
The bus driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The teen driver was found to be at-fault in the accident, and will be charged with failure to maintain lane, driving too fast for conditions and violation of class D driver's license restrictions.
