A Gwinnett County public school teacher has resigned after allegations that he sent inappropriate texts to a student.
According to the Gwinnett school system, the teacher resigned while the system’s human resources department was investigating the claims.
According to the police report, the student is 18 years old.
The school system is preparing reports to the Department of Family and Children’s Services.
“In addition, school resource officers investigated the allegations but have found no basis to charge [the teacher],” the system said in a statement.
The teacher has been employed by the school district since 2002. He has worked at Mill Creek High School since 2005.
In March 2016, another Mill Creek High teacher, 48-year-old Julee Sams Impara, resigned after being arrested for an alleged "inappropriate" relationship with a male student.
