Cherokee Sheriff: Two 13-year-old runaways take one of their mother's car

Officials said the two took a black 2014 Toyota Corolla with the Ga. tag #PYG2288.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. – The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office is searching for two 13-year-olds who ran away later Monday night.

The Sheriff’s office posted stating 13-year-old Taylor Elkins and Taylor Byram both ran away from their apartment complex in the 1300 block of Towne Lake Hills Street sometime after 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

Officials said Elkins went to Byram’s apartment where the two took Byram’s mother’s black 2014 Toyota Corolla with the Ga. tag #PYG2288.

Elkins is described as a white 5’3” teenage girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. Byram is described as a white 5’7” teenage girl with brown hair and brown eyes. There was not a description on what they were last seen wearing.

The sheriff’s office said the girls’ location is unknown at this time. If you have any information, you are asked to call the sheriff’s office at 678-493-4080.
