Parent found after 3-year-old discovered wandering in Conyers subdivision

Police have canceled a previous alert looking for the child's family.

CONYERS, Ga. — Conyers Police say they have located the parents of a child found wandering in an area subdivision on Saturday afternoon.

According to a post from the department, the child was found in the Callaway Crossing subdivision near Ga. 20 North at Sigman Road. Police said he was found wandering and no residents in the area recognized him.

The child was able to tell the police his name and that he is three and has a mom, a dad, and a cat. He also provided some details regarding his mother's car.

Police announced later in the afternoon that a parent had been located and the alert was canceled. No details on how the child got away have been released.
