Police release 'vehicle of interest' image in ongoing missing men case

Police said Joshua Jackson and Derrick Ruff have been missing since mid-December.

ATHENS, Ga. — Police in Athens said they are still looking for two men originally reported missing in mid-December.

Both Derrick Ruff and Joshua Jackson were last seen on Dec. 20. Jackson was reported missing by his father and Ruff was reported missing by his girlfriend, police said.

In the last two months, Athens-Clarke County Police investigators, working together with Gwinnett County Police investigators, have looked into hundreds of leads in the case. Last week, detectives said they spoke to multiple persons of interest.

They are now releasing a surveillance image of what they are terming a "vehicle of interest" in the case. The image was taken on the night the two men are believed to have gone missing. It was taken at a Lawrenceville shopping center, and shows an early 2000s-model gray Jeep.

Investigators are asking that anyone with information about this vehicle or the whereabouts of Jackson and Ruff to please contact Lt. Derek Scott at the Athens-Clarke County Police Department at 706-613-3888, ext. 329 or at Derek.Scott@accgov.com.

Anonymous tipsters may contact Crime Stoppers at 706-705-4775. Crime Stoppers tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in the case.
