COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A motorcyclist killed while trying to run from Paulding County deputies has been identified by police in the county where the chase ended suddenly – and tragically.

Authorities said 23-year-old Freddie Allen Few III of Mableton died at the scene in Cobb County after he hit a turning pickup truck so hard it was flipped on its roof.

But the incident actually began on the other side of the county line when deputies tried to pull him over. He refused to comply when deputies activated their lights leading to a high-speed chase on C.H. James Parkway.

Authorities said the chase continued into Cobb County but ended as a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck attempted to turn left onto Oglesby Road. Few hit the pickup truck causing it to rotate and flip over.

The driver of the truck was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital but his injuries aren’t expected to be life-threatening. Police investigating the accident said that based on what they see now, they don’t believe that driver will be charged. They added that the motorcyclist’s excessive speed was a contributing factor in the accident.
