ATHENS, Ga. — The Athens-Clarke County Police Department have identified a suspect and vehicle they believe is connected to the murder of a Athens man.
Officers responded to a home off Royal Court just after 3 p.m. Dec. 14 after getting reports that someone had been shot there. When officers got there, they found the victim, Rodriguez Rucker, already dead.
Police hadn't been able to identify a suspect, however, until recently.
On Dec. 18, Athens-Clarke County Police took out warrants for malice murder for 30-year-old Philmon D. Chambers from Decatur.
Detectives believe the vehicle used in the incident was a 1995 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck with Georgia plates RQA 5585, registered in DeKalb County.
