Forsyth County has first confirmed case of COVID-19

The Georgia Department of Public Health has confirmed a case of COVID-19 in Forsyth County.

CUMMING, Ga. — Forsyth County has been added to the list of places with COVID-19, bringing the total to over 100 cases in the state of Georgia. On Monday, the Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed three new cases in District 2. Two cases were reported in Hall County on Sunday, and one case was reported in Forsyth County that same day.

In a news release, the department of health stated: “elderly people and individuals with chronic medical conditions may have increased risk.”

Anyone who develops a fever with cough and shortness of breath is encouraged to stay home and contact a health provider.

“Be sure to call before going to a doctor’s office, emergency room, or urgent care center and tell them about your symptoms,” the release stated.
