Layaways paid in full at Forsyth Co. Walmarts

A local politician is encouraging others to spread Christmas cheer, after setting up the Forsyth Layaway Fund.

State Senator-elect Greg Dolezal is paying off Walmart layaway balances, but he's not just spending his own money. The recently elected representative of district 27 has setup a fund through the North Georgia Community Foundation. This allows the donations to be tax deductible.

11Alive was at the Marketplace Walmart in Cumming on Wednesday night, as Dolezal, his wife, and their friends brought the layaway balance from about $16,000 to zero. Dolezal said all layaways have to be paid by Friday, December 14th, and he hopes they raise enough money to cover all the Walmarts in Forsyth County.
