Middle school teacher wins top honor and new car

Kim Schreier has been named the 2019 Teacher of the Year in Forsyth County, and she’s taking home a brand new Chevrolet Equinox.

CUMMING, Ga. — During Friday’s Celebration of Excellence banquet, The Forsyth County School District awarded Kim Schreier with the top honor – Teacher of the Year.

“I am stunned and overwhelmed,” Schreier said shortly after winning the districts most sought-after award. “It’s an incredible honor and incredible feeling.”

The University of Georgia graduate teaches math at South Forsyth Middle School. Her career began in Fulton County in 2007, but she’s been in Forsyth County since 2014.

“Forsyth County is filled with amazing teachers. These seven finalists are amazing teachers.”

Schreier won a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox which was donated by Andean Chevrolet, one of the event sponsors.
