CUMMING, Ga. — In 2008, three brothers from Cumming, Georgia opened a live music venue at 37 Main Street in Buford. The success of that operation led to the opening of two other locations – Johns Creek and Gainesville. The Johns Creek location was closed after the city changed its noise ordinance, but that did not stop the brothers from pushing into other areas.

“We're in the process of opening the 37 Main Avondale Estates, and the capacity of that one will be around 700,” owner Joe White said. “So we're just right inside the Decatur area on that one.”

If all goes well, that location will open in late summer, early fall 2019. But the White boys aren’t stopping there. They are currently in talks with the city of Cumming about opening another location in the proposed city center.

“We're very excited about the possibility of that,” White said. “It's our hometown, so we would definitely love to bring some good live music there. The thought of being able to go into that new buildout they’re doing, we're very humbled and hope it works out.”

He says they hope to know more about that in the next couple months. In the meantime, 37 Main is presenting a new festival, Icon Music Fest, at the Cumming Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 8th.

“This will be the first year for the Icon Fest,” White said. “Last year, we did the Cumming Music Fest and then we did another one, Classic Rock Fest. So we're trying to brand each event and make them yearly things. The Cumming Fest this year already has so much more attention and everything built to it, because of what we did last year. The two we did last year, we had 6,000 at each event. So we're hoping to wash, rinse, and repeat that success.”

37 Main will also be creating live music experiences during upcoming holidays.

“We're doing the 4th of July at the fairgrounds which is always a big event for them,” White said. “We have a Kid Rock and a Van Halen tribute, good American music.”

White says he and his brothers have put their everything into the music venues and the festivals.

“I think it really comes across when people come in here and they see the attention to detail that we put into everything,” he said. “On top of that, the artists we bring in, it's no run-of-the-mill place. We're spending big money on entertainment because our fans deserve it.”
