Still looking for the perfect Super Bowl rental? How about a luxurious house on Lake Lanier.

As hordes of football fans descend upon the city this weekend, this luxury lake house may be just the thing to escape the madness.

CUMMING, Ga. — With Super Bowl LIII bringing thousands of people to Atlanta, many locals are renting out their homes for top dollar. Simply put, you’re paying for the convenience of being close to the action. For anyone wanting to get away from the tailgate parties and constant traffic jams, but still be within an hour drive of Mercedes Benz Stadium, there is another option – one that involves paying for luxury amenities rather than convenience on Super Bowl Sunday.

Lake Lanier is located about 42 miles to the north in an area where you’ll find dozens of luxury lake front homes. The good news is the rental prices are not really affected by this weekend’s football festivities, meaning you can rent these massive homes at the same price you’d pay during peak season in mid-summer. The bad news is many of them cost $1,000 or more each night. But, according to AirBnB “Superhost” Kenneth Heyman, you get what you pay for.

“The property is about 6,000 square feet, if you take the decking outside,” Heyman said. “ We have five bedrooms, four and a half baths, a sauna large enough for about four or five people to get in.”

And that’s just the layout inside. The real reason people rent his home, Heyman said, is because of what’s on the outside.

“The lake is where you want to be,” he said. “And you want a house that's on large water, close to the major features on Lake Lanier - the Lanier islands, Port Royale, Holiday.”

Heyman said he is not raising the rates during the super bowl, because he does not think anyone wants to stay out that far

"It's $650 through the week usually at my place, and about $1,000 on the weekend," he said. "But of course that's a large house with a full dock, double slip dock, centrally located on Lake Lanier."
