Pet of the Week: puppy with broken foot

The Cobb County Animal Services introduces us to a recently rescued puppy that’s happy and healthy despite a recent surgery.

EAST COBB, Ga. — Workers at the Cobb County Animal Services are currently caring for a puppy named Phantom.

“She's approximately 3 to 4 months old,” Seanna Abbott, field operations manager, said. “She came to us over a week ago with a broken foot, and our vet has been taking very good care of her, and it is healing well.”

The dog, which Abbott said is probably a bully breed mix, is up for adoption and at a very reasonable rate as part of an ongoing promotion.

“For $20, she would be spayed and microchipped,” Abbott said. “She's too young for a heartworm test, so she would be spayed in microchipped. She's been giving all her vaccinations, and the person would come back for the rabies vaccine because she's too young for that right now.”

She said there’s a possibility Phantom would require more medical treatments, but her foot is healing properly right now. A splint and regular visits to the vet may suffice, Abbott said.
