'The Semmes Speedbump' | East Point resident goes the extra mile with Halloween decorations

Todd Hausman creates seasonal attraction with lavish holiday decor

EAST POINT, Ga. — Located just one house past the intersection of Linwood and Semmes streets in the Conley Hills neighborhood, Todd Hausman’s house has become a seasonal attraction for the neighborhood.

An Illinois native, Hausman has lived in East Point since 2006 and credits his love of holiday decorating to his mother. While he also makes it a point to decorate for all the major holidays, Hausman tells My East Point News that he tends to go the extra mile for Halloween.

With over a dozen giant blow-up decorations in his front yard alone, Hausman stated that it doesn’t take him more than a day to set-up all of the big stuff. He stated that he doesn’t bother to deflate the decorations during the day so spectators can even get a glimpse during the daytime.

During this time of year, Hausman affectionately likes to refer to his house as the ‘Semmes Speedbump’ due to all the extra traffic and rubbernecking he sees from passersby.

Hausman has had the decorations up since the beginning of the month and looks forward to the hundreds of guests he’ll be expecting to stop by for Halloween.
