The Tri-Cities Small Business Fair was held today at the Georgia International Convention Center. Many local entrepreneurs looking to expand their business as well as seasoned professionals attended the fair.
“I just graduated from the University of Georgia, so I’m trying to get to know everyone in the community,” said Maiya Ali.
It’s the second year for the networking convention created for East Point, College Park, and Hapeville residents.
The event was hosted by East Point City Councilman Thomas Calloway, College Park City Councilman Tracey Wyatt, and other community leaders.
“If we’re ever going to become great cities, we must empower our small businesses,” said Wyatt.
Many who attended the fair currently own small businesses but went to gain further knowledge about the resources available to small business owners in their area. Other attendants said they hoped to network and make connections with like-minded business professionals.
“We recently took over a trophy shop in East Point, this was an opportunity for us to learn what resources are available for us,” said Eric Marcus.
