Volunteers honored at Heart of East Point Awards

The event, created by city councilmembers Stephanie Gordon and Nanette Saucier, was held Friday evening at the Four Points Hotel in East Point.

EAST POINT, Ga. — Dozens who’ve made an impact in the community were recognized during the inaugural Heart of East Point awards, Friday. 

The event, created by City Councilmembers Stephanie Gordon and Nanette Saucier, was held at the Four Points Hotel in East Point.

Saucier said they realized so many give their time and effort to East Point, yet they don’t receive a formal “thank you.”

The recipients are below:

Building Bridges Award:

Congressman John Lewis- 5th Congressional District (GA)

Congressman David Scott- 13th Congressional District (GA)

Representative William Bodie- State District 62 (GA)

Representative Kim Schofield-State District 60 (GA)

Commissioner Marvin Arrington, Jr.- Fulton County District 5

Beacon of Light Award:

Associate Pastor Kristopher Hosey-Christian Church at East Point

Pastor Olu Brown- Impact Church
