Grab tacos, brews and more at the Smokin' Hot Taco Fest

Businesses and neighbors in Lawrenceville are teaming up to throw a Cinco de Mayo bash.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — What happens when you combine your favorite restaurants in the square in Lawrenceville?  You get the Smokin' Hot Taco Festival on May 5, where you can enjoy tacos and margaritas.

"Strange Taco is quickly noticed as one of the best places in Gwinnett County to come grab an unauthentic American taco. So we thought what better way to celebrate and throw a huge Cinco De Mayo with some of our best friends around the square," Chris Collin Co-owner of Strange Taco Bar said.

Neighbors Strange Taco Bar and Foggy Bottom B.B.Q. will team up to create three signature tacos that people can enjoy right behind the two restaurants. Meanwhile, Local Republic and Slow Pour Brewing company have teamed up to brew a special drink for the festival.

The Cinco De Mayo back-lot throw-down will feature a performance by Jacob and the Good People.

There will also be plenty of activities such as a hot chili-eating competition.

V.I.P. tickets for the taco festival are already sold out, but you still can buy a general admission ticket.
