Gwinnett County makes history by swearing in the first Asian and African American Commissioners

Ben Ku and Marlene Fosque are the first people of color to be sworn in to the Gwinnett County Commission.

Friday night was a historic night for Gwinnett County as they sworn in both Ben Ku and Marlene Fosque.

Fosque is the first African American Commissioner, while Ku is the first Asian American Commissioner and the first member of the LGBTQ community on the board.

The two new commissioners are the first Democrats sworn in to the Gwinnett County Commission in more than three decades.
