ATLANTA — As Gwinnett County Police were following up on a missing person's case, officers said they found a 16-year-old boy shot to death in the backyard of a Lawrenceville home.
Officers responded shortly after 1 p.m. along Paden Mill Trail, which is near Sweet Water Park and Alford Elementary School.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses in the area and following up on leads. Its Crime Scene Unit is also processing the scene for evidence.
"There is currently no suspect description, and the motive is not known at this time," the police department said in a release.
Gwinnett Police said they will release the victim's name at a later time.
