Meet Chip and Chipper | Gwinnett County Animal Welfare's pets of the week

These pets are available for free adoptions this weekend.

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Chip, a 2-year-old border collie mix, and Chipper, an 8-year-old domestic short haired feline, are waiting at Gwinnett County Animal Welfare to find their forever homes.

My Lawrenceville News powered by 11Alive has partnered with the animal shelter to highlight these pets. This weekend only, Chip and Chipper are available for free adoptions.

The adoption fees at the animal welfare center are usually $30 for cats and $45 for dogs, plus a $25 mandatory microchip.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for April 20, the Gwinnett Animal Welfare Center will host the Adoption EGG-Stravaganza in celebration of Easter. Prospective pet owners will each receive a egg containing a coupon with a special adoption price for a new furry friend. Also visit the GAWC booth that same day during the Racing for Rescues 5k  in Suwanee, Georgia. For more information click here
