Meet Daphne & Gomez: Gwinnett Animal Welfare's pets of the week

Both Gomez and Daphne are available for free adoption.

CUMMING, Ga. — Two-year-old Daphne has been at the shelter since October. Shelter staff says she is a tabby cat weighing in at 12 pounds.

Stacie Miller with Gwinnett Animal Shelter say she loves to curl up next to you and get her face rubbed. "She likes to be warm, so she'll climb right into your lap and snuggle," says Miller.

Gomez is a senior pup at the shelter who has been at Gwinnett since the end of October. He is an 8-year-old mixed breed dog. Gomez is known for his calm personality and his love of treats.

Miller says he has tested positive for heartworms, "once he has an owner commitment, we'll treat him for the heartworms."

Miller says he would do well with seniors and children and is ready to relax outside of the shelter.
