Random Acts of Kindness: Susan G. Komen 3-Day team

Team Booby Traps raised more than $20,000 for breast cancer research. The women were rewarded for their efforts with a day of beauty.

ID=1951248STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Today's random act of kindness is for a very special Susan G. Komen 3-day team, Booby Traps.

Every year, volunteers, activists, and runners alike with Susan G. Komen strive to raise funds and educate people about breast cancer.

This year, team Booby Traps raised more than $20,000 towards that goal. Team Booby Traps' Angel Goldman was also one of this year's top fundraisers for the 3-day overall.

The Susan G. Komen 3-day strikes a chord with Lester Crowell andThree-13 Salon, Spa & Boutiquewho wanted to get involved in 11Alive's random acts of kindness.

Lester Crowell is a two-time heart transplant recipient. Since the age of 13, Lester has struggled with any kind of physical activity. In April of 2000, he received a heart transplant that changed his life.

That October, Lester successfully completed the 3-day with a team of 13 employees from Three-13. It was the first time in Lester's life that he didn't experience any physical pain whatsoever.

This wonderful milestone is a fond memory of Lester's and the salon, who were more than happy to present team Booby Traps with a random act of kindness.
