Passengers evacuated after fuel spill at Atlanta airport

A plane was being refueled when a problem developed with a hose connection.

More than 1,000 gallons of jet fuel was spilled Thursday morning at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

According to Atlanta fire department officials, a plane at Gate E-33 was being refueled when a problem developed with a hose connection.

No one was injured in the incident.

Some other nearby gates were also cleared as a precaution.

Cleanup operations are ongoing.
