Police release new details on vehicle involved in fatal hit-run of 4-year-old

Police said they are looking for a 2000 or 2001 charcoal grey, four-door Toyota Camry. 

TUCKER, Ga. -- Police have released the make and model of the vehicle they believe struck and killed a 4-year-old as she walked to school.

Lun Thang was walking with her 6-year-old sister and her mother on a crosswalk at North Indian Creek Dr. and North Indian Creek Way on Oct. 18 when a vehicle hit her. Police said the driver hit an embankment and stopped for a moment, but then drove away.

Thang was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

On Thursday, Oct. 26, DeKalb County Police said they had identified the make and model of the vehicle by paint chips recovered at the scene as well as a lens form the passenger side headlight. Police said they are looking for a 2000 or 2001 charcoal grey, four-door Toyota Camry.

The vehicle will have damage to the right front end. The headlight might illuminate, but at a decreased level, police said.
